New Moon in Cancer – July 14th at 5:04 AM PDT
Cancer energy is deeply concerned with matters of home and family. The nurturing power of the Cancer Moon will bring out our motherly instincts. It will make us want to take care of and support others. During this time more than ever, it’s important to remember that in order to take care of others, we must first learn to nurture and comfort our Self! It’s the perfect time for some self-examination to reconnect with our emotional center and re-define our emotional foundations and boundaries.
The energy of this New Moon will make us want to retreat into the comfort of our home, family circle and private life. We will feel the need for a little “down time”, a quiet space where we can let our spirits speak freely, where we feel like we are totally safe and protected. As we will be feeling the call towards home during this time, it’s an excellent opportunity to carve out a spot for relaxation and reflection. If you don’t have one already, clear some space and create an altar. Use nurturing water images to soothe and heal. Dedicate this space for your own nurturing so you will have the energy to nurture those closest to you. Make sure you spend this time with only those people who you feel you can truly trust to embrace all of you, unconditionally. More than anything, you need to feel completely safe during this moon cycle, so take the necessary steps to create or enhance your sanctuary.
